Branded Virtual Backgrounds

So… here we are, in the middle of a pandemic. For many of us, every aspect of our lives has been impacted. I’m not going to lie, for a few days I was freaking out. “Will I get sick?” Will my family get sick?” Will we have enough food?” And then… “what will happen to my business?”

In a time like this we must think of health and safety first. But then we must think about continuing to work and earn a living.

Life will go on. Business will go on.

Businesses are re-tooling, and re-positioning. They’re thinking about how they can communicate with their audience in a way that is sensitive and respectful of the current situation. They can’t come across too pushy, or callous. They can’t be too ‘salesy’. A mis-step at this time could tarnish a brands’ reputation and have a long-term negative effect. Brands need to be very careful about how they move forward. If done incorrectly it could be a detriment to their brand and to their long-term success.

But… they still need to be out there. Many are leveraging social media. Some are re-designing their website. One thing we are all doing is transitioning to online communications in one way or another.

As you know, Video Conferencing has exploded out of necessity. We’ve all used Skype, Google Hangouts, Facetime, and a multitude of other platforms in the past. Some had used them casually, some on a more consistent basis. Now we need these platforms… and everyone is using them. Zoom is leading the market, mostly on the personal side but making significant strides in the business space as well. I saw this as an opportunity to help my clients remain visible and top of mind. Considering the extensive use of video conferencing for business I began offering a branded virtual background and branded profile picture.

Nothing says ‘professional’ and ‘brand image’ more than a messy closet and pile of dirty clothes in the background… right? WRONG!

These branded backgrounds and profile pictures set them apart when on a video call. They look professional while reinforcing their brand image and brand message.

We don’t know how long this will last. We’re all doing our best on a personal level, and should be doing our best on a professional level. This means continuing to let our colleagues and clients know that we are still in business, and that we mean business.

Stay safe and stay strong.
